Neighborhoods 2020: "What are the unique services provided by neighborhood organizations?"

The very first question that should be asked by the Roadmap is "What are the unique services provided by neighborhood organizations to residents and the City?"

There are many different ways to answer this question, for example, it would be easy to simply provide a list of programmatic services that neighborhood organizations provide--a sort of check list of neighborhood organizations activities.

But I realize that there are really three big questions involved here:

1. Why do neighborhood organizations matter?
2. What services do neighborhood organizations provide?
3. What makes an effective neighborhood organization?

So, over the next few days, I plan to address each of these questions in several separate posts. The first posts will address the question "why neighborhood organizations matter"

The answers to that question may just surprise you.
